From the bold fanfare opening, Legends of the Desert takes the band and audience on a journey through the mysteries and adventures of the mystic east. After the grand announcement of the hero the work settles into a seductive lilting melody which conjures up travelling through the great deserts on camel and being guided by the peacefulness of the stars. Slipping into a reflective passage the hero thinks of home of all that is far away… when suddenly all changes with a commotion which slowly builds to the climax, is he being followed by those who wish him gone….. a chase commences over the dunes and into the darkness ……. Is the hero victorious? Or is it the end of his adventure?
